American - Revolutionary War Scene by F. Luis Mora
F. Luis Mora was born in Uruguay in 1874. His family migrated to the United States in 1880 when Luis was 6 years old. The family moved to Allston, Mass. where Luis graduated from high school. Luis enrolled in the Boston School of Fine Art, his teachers were Frank Benson and Edmund Tarbell. Mora was known for his historical illustrations and mural. He held several memberships in prestigious art clubs and won several medals for his work.
This particular painting is a grisaille of the revolutionary war signed on the lower right hand side. Painting measures 17 x 12 and in excellent condition.
