Edmund Darch Lewis:  He took private lessons from artist Paul Weber.  He was one of the most commercially successful American landscape painters in the nineteenth Century.  Lewis exhibited at Pennsylvania Academy, National Academy of Design in New York and the Boston Athenaeum.   

The oil on canvas (relined) painting is signed the right side.   Lewis depicts an American landscape with mountains in the background and their reflection in the water.  The path along the river has two people walking their dog.  The painting measures 23 x 42 in a nice frame.
